My Video mashup from the Trip to Austin TX for the Freedom Fast Lane Live Event.

So this past December I had the great privilege to attend the Freedom Fast Lane Live event in Austin, Texas.

It was an amazing experience and I would love to talk a bit about some of my takeaways from it.

First and foremost to the experience was networking. That’s such a sterile term though. If it’s done right networking can be an organic process. In that case it should just be called making new friends.

That’s exactly what happened for me in Austin.
My first step toward this was in my choice of accommodation. Everyone knows that social media can be an excellent resource toward meeting like-minded people, so I used a Facebook groups to find people to room with.

I have to admit, I was a little nervous going in!
There was no way to know what type of people I would be sharing a house with for four days. Turns out, the gambit paid off in a big way. I ended up sharing an Air BnB house with six peers that I could both engage with intellectually and learn from. What a great relief!

Everyone in the house was an entrepreneur working in different capacities within the tech commerce space. The brilliance of each of my short term roommates was evident from the start and it felt great to be able to speak freely and openly about industry trends with people that were just as hungry for industry knowledge as I am.

The lesson to me was clear: always strive to surround yourself with people that you can learn from! I almost wore my pen out taking notes. You can view these below this blog post. Click on them to download full set and feel free to use them on your social media. I hope that they help you as much as they’ve helped me!

Of course, the true highlight of the trip was the event itself. What an incredibly well organized and executed conference! Each speaker was more engaging than the last and it seemed that keynote speaker Peter Diamandis was the perfect culmination to the evening.
Breaks in the event afforded great opportunities to continue to meet new people.

The organizer of the event, Ryan Moran, surely has accomplished a feat in bringing Fast Lane Live to fruition!

In my last day in Austin I wandered as a tourist and took in that great city. My friends and family expected gifts from my travels and I was not about to let them down. They really should have been concerned, however, as I spend a lot of time on this.

Anyway, this was surely not the last time that I will visit Austin. I will definitely be attending Fast Lane Live next year, in fact, I can’t wait!

Please see above for my video from the trip and feel free to like and share it!
